Playing in the snow

We had our first day of weather above freezing so we took advantage of it and spent some time outside. We were all getting a little cabin fever so it was good for us to get some fresh air. Even Kade enjoyed some time in the sunshine.

Camden got out her sand toys for use in the snow as well.

She made some snow castles...
Kade had his first feel of snow...can't say he loved it.

Sunny had some fun though.

Gymnastics

We signed Camden up for Gymnastics a few weeks ago. She is part of the Wigglebugs program at the Triad in Ankeny. It's a parent/child class specifically for 2-year olds. On this particular night, Daddy got to help Camden with class while Mommy took pictures. Can you spot Camden and Daddy??

Here she is on the cartwheel mat. There are hearts on the mat that teach them where to put their hands when learning to do a cartwheel.

Daddy had to explain to Camden that the goal was to only step on the triangles.
She looks forward to Tuesday nights and gets upset when class is over and it's time to go home.

First Fight

This week Camden and Kade had their first fight. I'm sure this is just a sign of what is to come. Let's hope all are as humorous as this one.
I think thier conversation may have gone something like this (If Kade could talk, that is)...
Kade-Hey Sister, Is that the Farmer in the Dell singing book you have?

Kade - Do you mind if I take a look at it?

Camden - Daddy says we have to share. But I'd really prefer that you didn't touch my book.

Camden - Ha, Ha! It's my book now.

Kade - Oh, don't you dare. You had better share that book with me, Camden.

Camden - I don't want to share it with you, Kade.

Kade - ddddddddaaaaaaaaadddddddddddd.....Camden took my book.........

6 Month Stats

Kade had his 6 month Well Baby visit this afternoon. He got a great report from the doctor. Here are his stats:
Weight: 19 pounds 1 ounce (78th percentile)
Length: 27 1/2 inches long (85th percentile)
Head 17 1/2 inches (80th percentile)
He's staying pretty consistently around the 80th percentile, which he has maintained since about 2 months.
Kade got 5 shots at his appointment today. The poor boy took it well though. He cried for a few minutes, but hasn't been fussy since then. He's a tough little guy!

6 months old!

A half of a year has passed already! And Kade has grown so much!! He doesn't have his 6-month check-up until next week, so we don't know where he ranks yet but we do know that he has grown A LOT!

He wasn't very smiley for the 6-month photo shoot because he has a terrible cold, but we managed to get a few good ones.

He has mostly mastered the skill of sitting up on his own. He will sit for quite a while without any support. Occasionally he will topple over if he is reaching for something.

He loves to watch Sunny. We have a hard time getting him to look at the camera if Sunny is around. He wants to watch her instead!
He loves to eat his baby food too. He will typically eat two whole containers of baby food at each sitting!! He does still like his bottles, but he'd trade a bottle for a spoon any day!

He's changed so much in the past six months, we can hardly wait to see what the next six months brings!

Updated pics of the kids

It has been a while since I've posted pictures of the kids. They are doing great. Kade thinks his sister is the funniest person he knows. And Camden like to pretend that Kade is her baby. Here she is covering him up with her baby's blankets.

And then she thought he needed it on his head. Kade didn't seem to mind.

Despite the cold that Kade has caught, he's still a pretty happy little guy. Notice the drool-soaked shirt.

I caught Camden enjoying some Valentines Candy in this picture.

The kids now do bathtime together. It makes our life much easier to only give one bath per night instead of two. Plus they seem to like having each other in there to entertain them.

Achoo!

Camden and Sunny like each other very much. Sunny likes Camden even more now that Camden knows how to get her treats. Camden wanted to give Sunny a treat the other night and I told her that I would get one for her (since we have child locks on the cupboards and the treats are in a cupboard). Camden said, "I can get it." And sure enough she knew exactly how to open the cupboard despite the locks. So much for those!

Camden does make Sunny work for her treats. Watch this!
