Happy Halloween!

Since we were out of town this weekend and unable to take the kids Trick-Or-Treating, we took them to Night Eyes at the zoo last weekend instead. Camden had a really hard time deciding on a Halloween Costume this year. We returned a few costumes and looked at lots and lots of cosutmes before deciding on one. Much to her Daddy's dismay, she settled on being a Princess.
There wasn't as much drama with choosing a costume for Kade. We took the obvious one - a Hawkeye Football player!
There were all kinds of activities for the kids besides Trick-Or-Treating at the zoo. Camden got to try her hand at Pumpkin Bowling.

We took a Train Ride which might have been Kade's favorite part of the whole night.

Camden even posed with Dorothy, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion.
We had such a fun night. Camden has been asking to put her costume on almost every day since then! I have a feeling the Princess will be making an appearance quite often!

Kade's Climbing Habits

Kade is such a busy little boy. He just doesn't sit still for a minute. Last week I was trying to make supper and he was climbing on everything he possibly could. These pictures/video were all taken within a minute of each other. He goes from one thing to the next despite me scolding him for climbing.
We already knew climbing on the coffee table was one of his favorite things. But he has gotten so quick at getting up there that you can't turn your back on him for 2 seconds or he will be there.

He loves to stand on the hearth of the fireplace too. But it's not as high as the coffee table...which means it isn't scary enough for him. So he ups the risk factor by jumping off the hearth--which is not good because he doesn't have enough balance to jump yet. It basically just turns into a dive off the hearth. I have a feeling that one of these days it will end with a trip to the Emergency Room.

And this is definitely his new favorite trick. No matter how many times I tell him "No", he goes right back to it and does it again.

My favorite part of this video is when Camden says, "That boy is in trouble again, Mom." She knows he isn't supposed to be doing it. Thank goodness for Camden watching out for him...she often warns me when he is doing something he isn't supposed to do.

What? Isn't that what Lego tables are for?

Fall Fun!

We have been taking advantage of this beautiful fall weather we are having. A few weekends ago, Camden said she wanted to have a picnic. So we packed a lunch and went to Saylorville Lake for a picnic.
After a yummy lunch, we spent some time playing. Camden and Kade loved playing in the leaves. Maybe because we don't have any trees big enough to drop a pile of leaves.
