Fall is Fun!

I love fall! I love everything about this season. I love visits to the pumpkin patch, carving jack-o-lanterns, baking, decorating...EVERYTHING! Unfortuately my daughter doesn't share the same love of fall with me. We carved our pumpkins on Tuesday night and Camden probably said 100 times "that's yucky". She refused to help dig the seeds out of the pumpkin.
The first time she stuck her hand in the pumpkin she pulled it out and said, "that's yucky".
We made her scoop a few more seeds out (this was her pumpkin afterall!).
And she certainly didn't like it any more the second time than she did the first.

Immedately after that she said, "I need to wash my hands." I think we officially have a girly-girl!
We did end up with a nice looking jack-o-lantern in the end!
We have found one aspect of fall that she enjoys--playing in the leaves!! Thank you Uncle Blair and Aunt Tarryn for letting us play in your leaves. We don't have any trees big enough to drop a pile of leaves like this!
Camden and Daddy had so much fun playing in the leaves!

Kade hasn't really gotten the opportunity to partake in the fall festivites much. He went to the pumpkin patch with us but slept through the whole thing. Hopefully he will stay awake to enjoy the trick-or-treaters tomorrow night.

Pumpkin Patch

Sunday was the first nice weekend we have had to go to the Pumpkin Patch. We went to Center Grove Orchard in Cambridge. There were plenty of things to keep a 2-year old entertained.
We started by feeding some animals. Camden wouldn't feed the horses, but she watched as Daddy gave them some food.
She thought the goats were pretty neat.
After spending some time feeding the animals, we took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Camden loved seeing the tractor. Kade slept through most of the pumpkin patch visit in the Baby Bjorn.
We wandered around the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkins.

We stopped for a few photo ops before leaving the pumpkin patch. Camden obviously wasn't in the mood to smile.

Kade is 2 months old!

Kade is officially 2 months old. We tried really hard to get a good picture of him, but Camden and Sunny both thought they needed to be in the picture too. So after a picture of all three, I chased Camden and Sunny out so I could get some of just Kade.

Kade had his 2-month check-up today with our pediatrician. He weighs 13 pounds 4 ounces (which is the 80th percentile). Just to give some perspective, Camden weighed 8 pounds 7 1/2 ounces at her 2-month check-up. Kade weighs more now than Camden did at 6 months!
He is 23 1/2 inches long (which is the 70th percentile). He has grown 3 1/2 inches in length since he was born less than 9 weeks ago.

Our doctor asked about his core strength and we told her how he is trying hard to roll over, but can't quite get his hips over. She put him on his stomach on the exam table and he flipped right to his back like he had been doing it forever! So his first time rolling over was in front of the doctor. We think he was trying to show off :)

After we got a few good pictures of Kade, we promised Camden we would take some of her too.
She loves to hold her little brother!!

Another two weeks (and I'm just now updating!)

Here are some new pictures of both kids.
Mom and Kade just hanging out on the couch. I'm trying to soak up as much time with my babies as I can before I go back to work!
We are starting to get a few little smiles out of Kade. Here's the closest that we have caught on camera....and check out these chubby thighs!

What a big boy!

Just taking a little nap.
One of his favorite places to be during the day is propped up in his boppy so he can watch the excitement. Apparently there was too much excitement this day because it wore him out.

Camden also thinks her babies like to lay in the boppy. This is what I found after I took Kade out of the boppy.
Camden is filing her toe nails. She's a little girly girl!

Look at this cheesy smile.

Here's what her hair looks like when the pigtails come out.
