Farmer Cam

Camden had her first school program last week.  Her daycare center had a celebration to honor the pre-school graduates and the 3 year old class were scheduled to perform a few songs as well.

The program had a farm theme and the kids were supposed to dress in farm attire.  Camden put on her pink bibs and cowboy boots for the occasion.

She has been singing The Farmer in the Dell and Baa Baa Black Sheep incessantly for the past several weeks in preparation.

But when it came time for the concert, the fear set in.  Camden was very apprehensive walking out and didn't want to let go of Miss Christina's hand.

She stood on the risers for a minute, but then decided she couldn't go through with it.

Ashton tried to calm her down, but unfortunately it didn't work :(

Camden ended up coming to sit with us while the rest of her friends sang their songs.

After the music portion, she showed us her artwork that was on display.

We were looking forward to getting some video of Camden singing...maybe next time!

Happy Birthday, Reagan!

We went to Rock Rapids to help Reagan celebrate her first birthday last weekend.  What a fun celebration!

Much to her father's dismay, she looked absolutely adorable dressed in her tutu and butterfly wings!

Of course it wouldn't be a first birthday party without the cake smash!

Kade had to try out the basketball hoop we got for Reagan.  Look at that form - not bad for a year and a half, huh?

Camden and Daddy enjoyed the cupcakes.  Yum!

Happy HAPPY Birthday to Little Miss Reagan!  We are so happy we were able to be a part of the celebration!!

Day by Day

It's amazing how much can change in a day in the world of construction.  Because our lot and future home is only about 2 miles from where we are currently living, we drive by almost daily to see what kind of progress is happening.  It's exciting to see the house take shape right before our eyes.

Here's the series of pictures from this week.

House Update - It's starting to look like a house!

I was out of town last week and when I got home, the house looked entirely different than it had just a week before.

The house is almost entirely framed.  The plywood is going up on the outside it is definitely starting to take shape.  This is the view from the back of the house.

This could possibly be the room I am the most excited about - the pantry!  My enormous 6' by 9' walk-in pantry!

This is the living room windows that face the back of the lot.

Camden in her new room!

Cam and Kade in Kade's new room.

This is the view from the master bedroom window.  I can't wait to wake up to this every day!

And this is the family room in the basement.  The opening on the left is the slider to the walk-out and the others are windows.  We really wanted to capitalize on the view we have so the entire back of the house is mostly windows.

The hallway in the basement leading to the 2 additional bedrooms and bathroom.
We are so excited to see everything come together!  We can't wait until it's move-in day!  Hopefully less than 3 months to go!

A Double Celebration!

Sunday, May 8th, was a double-whammy holiday for me with the celebration of both Mother's Day and our Anniversary!  It started with the kids snuggling in bed with me.  And then Camden made me breakfast in bed by putting some dry Frosted Mini Wheats in a bowl and bringing them to me.

The kids each made Mother's Day presents for me at school and they brought them for me to open while in bed.  Camden decorated a picture frame that holds a beautiful picture of my baby girl.

Kade made the sweetest little hand print for me.  Attached to it is a poem that says:
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On the furniture and walls

But everyday I'm growing
I'll be grown someday
And all those tiny hand prints
Will surely fade away

So here's a little hand print
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was so small

Awww!  That made this momma cry!

Then the kids delivered the present that they picked out especially for me!  Camden had written on the box all by herself!  (Have I mentioned that she is getting great at writing her letters?!?)

Inside the box was a lion head cover for a golf clubs.  Which was of course the precursor to Derek's amazing gift--a new set of golf clubs!

I have been saying for a while now that I really want to learn to golf.  And if we are going to live on a golf course, I need to learn to golf!

So after the amazing mother's day celebration in the morning, we headed over to Jeremy and Jacki's house for a delicious lunch and fun with the kids.  Then we left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa and moved on to the celebration of the other holiday for the day - our 7 year anniversary!

It's hard to believe that 7 years ago I married my best friend!  A lot has changed in the past 7 years, but I love him even more today than the day I married him!  Not only is Derek my best friend, he is the most amazing father I could ever ask for our children.

After we left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa, we went to the driving range to try out my new golf clubs.  We each hit a bucket of balls then we did a little shopping for the new house and finished the evening with a dinner at Bonefish Grill.

In all it was an incredible day!  I couldn't ask for a more amazing family!
