Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took the kids to Patches Pumpkins by Adel for our annual visit to a pumpkin patch. We tried a new one this year and were glad we did. It was s much fun!
Kade was amazed by everything he saw. He did a lot of this...
...and some more pointing
...and he pointed even more !
Camden loved the chickens. So much so, that at the end of the day when we asked her what her favorite part was, she said "the chickens!"

There was so much for the kids to do. Here they are in the straw maze. Camden was a little hesitant at first, but it didn't take her long to want to explore the maze.
There were bounce houses for the kids to jump in. Lucky for us it wasn't very busy there at all so the kids got plenty of time with the bounce house all to themselves.
I didn't think we were going to be able to get Camden out of there. She had so much fun jumping!
Of course we found some time for a few photo ops. My how they have changed since our last visit to the pumpkin patch!!
I asked Camden if she wanted to ride a horse. At first she said No. But after a little convincing, she decided she would go for a little ride. I thought she might get scared when the horse started walking, but she didn't. Then the horse let out a big whinny and I thought that might scare her, but she didn't flinch! After the first lap she said to me, "Mommy, maybe next year when I'm bigger I can just ride the horse by myself." Like it is clearly not cool to ride a horse with your Mom!
Our last acticity of the day was the hay rack ride to the pumpkin patch.
And then Kade got to ride around in the Wagon that you put the pumpkins in. He thought that was pretty fun!
Everyone got to pick a pumpkin. Kade needed a little help deciding on his. He wanted every pumpkin we came upon!
Camden seemed to go for the little ones. We did get some little ones, but we had to really encourage her to pick out a big one too.
What a fun day at the pumpkin patch!!

Reagan's Baptism

Sweet little baby Reagan was baptized last weekend. We traveled to Rock Rapids for the blessed event. And we came home with some great memories and great family pictures from an equally great weekend.
Here is Reagan and her proud mommy and daddy.

Camden's First Golf Outing

Daddy has been preparing Camden for this day for a long time now. He started with the golf "lessons" when she was about 6 weeks old. The day finally arrived when he got to take Camden to the course for 9 holes.
On our most recent trip to Rock Rapids, Camden got the opportunity to go golfing. It was the perfect place for her first time tagging along with the big guys. It is a quiet course so they didn't have to worry about holding up anyone.

Camden went with Uncle Blair to go get his golf cart. She thought that was prety cool!

Unfortunately it was a VERY cold September day. I think the high that day was 49 degrees. Camden had to bundle up!

Derek, Grandpa Ken, Blair and Camden ready for the first hole.

Camden helped them to "keep score". Either that or she just drew pictures on the score card. She also helped them by getting the ball when it went in the hole - once she picked it up before it made it to the hole. Oops!

Thanks guys for taking Camden along. She had fun! She can't wait for her next golf outing!

Kade's Newest Trick

Kade discovered a new talent over the weekend. He was quite proud of himself once he mastered it! He has been practicing it at every opportunity despite Mom and Dad telling him no.

Go Hawkeyes!

Saturday was a big day in the state of Iowa. It was the infamous Iowa vs. Iowa State game. We proudly wore our black and gold and cheered on our beloved Iowa Hawkeyes!

To prepare for the game, we did some cooking. Camden and I made Cocoa Krispy Bars in the shape of footballs and used frosting to draw laces. Camden got to decorate the last bar by herself and of course, sample some of the frosting.

Camden still has a deep love for Ricky Stanzi, the quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes. I asked her how much she loves Stanzi and this was her response.

Kade loves the Hawkeyes too...or he will when he's old enough to understand, anyway. That doesn't stop us from dressing him in black and gold and teaching him to say "Go Hawks"

We were all happy with the outcome of the game. Hawkeyes won 35-7!
