Trimming the Tree

With all of our Christmas decorations in storage, we have a theme of a handmade Christmas this year. We painted, colored and glittered ornaments to adorn our tree.
It worked out well because Camden is really into crafts right now so she thought this was just great.
Daddy even participated in craft time by putting glitter on the ornaments.
After the ornaments were decorated, it was off to the tree farm to cut down our tree and bring it home.
We found our tree right away and Kade consulted with Daddy on the best method for cutting it down.
After it was cut, we were ready to take it home and decorate it with our new handmade ornaments.
Camden loved hanging the ornaments on the tree. This may explain why most of our ornaments are on the bottom two feet of the tree.
Kade was interested in the ornaments...but he was more interested in throwing them than hanging them on the Christmas tree.

In the midst of decorating, we took a quick time out for a tickle attack.
Then it was back to decorating.
The handmade Christmas has been a good lesson for me. I've always been more interested in having the 'pretty tree' and not a tree full of handmade ornaments. But I think this tree is even more beautiful than any tree we have had in the past. Maybe it's because I see the fun and memories we made creating the ornaments - which in itself is beautiful.

Sunny was the only one willing to pose in front of the Christmas tree when we were finished decorating.
With a little bribery, I was able to get the kids to pose for a picture the next day.
